[Don’t have your Home Return Permit?] 】Apply for an electronic temporary pass in 10 minutes｜Validity period and application restrictions｜Applicable to expired/lost Home Visit Permit

The electronic temporary pass is an entry and exit document issued by the government service platform of the China Exit and Entry Administration. From March 20, 2025, Hong Kong residents who intend to enter the Mainland but do not carry a valid Home Return Permit, or whose Home Return Permit has expired or been lost, can log in to the China Exit and Entry Administration Government Service Platform via their mobile phone to apply for a one-time electronic temporary pass. Note: The e-pass is only valid for entry into the Mainland by plane or train, and the application period cannot exceed the expiry date of the Home Return Permit.

Step 1: Search for "Immigration Bureau 12367" on WeChat or Alipay mini program, open it and select "Chinese Citizen Service"

Step 2: Select "Temporary Pass for Residents of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to Travel to the Mainland"

Step 3: Select "Apply for a Temporary Pass"

Step 4: Enter the login screen, select "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents" in the first column, then enter your name and Home Visit Permit number

Step 5: Enter more personal information, including the validity period of the Home Visit Permit, gender, set password and mobile phone number (a mainland mobile phone number must be used)

Step 6: After obtaining the verification code and completing the facial recognition authentication, you will receive an electronic temporary pass
